"All we need is love" "What the world needs now is love sweet love"

I dont know about you but I have struggled all my life looking for something to fill this hole in my life.  Something to make me feel loved, cared for, a part of something that mattered.  I have spent endless years chasing the things of this world to fill that void.  Money, success, stuff, affection, you name it.

Today I discovered something that has been under my nose the entire time.  Something so simple it confounds me.  Jesus loves me, right where I am, just how I am, and He wants me to love Him back, just for Him.  Simple. Love. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind . This is the first and greatest commandment. Matthew 22:37-38

Thats it in a sentence.  Love Him, Love Him, if we would just Love Him, everything else would become so much easier.  Dont get me wrong, it is not a way to get what you want or to solve all your problems, because if thats why you are loving Him, to get, your going about it all wrong.  Just Love Him, because He loves you no matter what, unconditionally and thats all He wants back, LOVE, unconditionally.

You dont have to get your life all cleaned up, you dont have to change, just LOVE HIM.  The rest, well, the rest will happen so naturally, so completely as we immerse ourselves into a love relationship with the very one that created us, who knows us better than anyone in this world, the rest will be melted away.

God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

I want to fill the holes in me and my life with the thing that is everlasting.  I dont want to be broken any more.  I want a relationship that is eternal, with the one that will never forsake me, never leave me, and loves me more than anyone else can.  The one that longs to walk with me talk with me and lead me to places I could never go without Him, I want to love the one true God!

Just when you think you have it all figured out....

There is something about a relationship with GOD that seems to be missing in our society.  So many come to HIM for what HE can do for them instead of, OH MY GOSH GOD, after all you have done for me, what can I do for you!!  We treat GOD like a gumball machine, put the prayer in turn the knob and get our answers.

Well, I have been doing a lot of reading of the word and giving a lot of thought to this.  Is it really all about us?  Remember this saying John F. Kennedy's quote, "Ask not what your country can do for you--ask what you can do for your country."
If we all focused on meeting the needs of others rather than our own, we would be serving each other in love.  Hard stuff and especially when you have a society that tells you get your share, focus on your self, "It's all about me, me, me!!"  Jesus never focused on his self, HE focused on us and it was never about meeting HIS own needs but sacrificing for ours..

Just a thought, what if we Loved God with all our hearts souls and strength and loved our neighbors as our selves.....  Something to think about!

Easy to say, harder to do, but worth the try!!!!

Don't Let Another Day Go By!!!

I was listening to the radio this morning and heard the story of a young woman who had been imprisoned and tortured for as she put it, "Loving Jesus and Loving others".  This young woman counted it an honor to suffer for her Savior!  I was reminded of an innocent man who was tortured and put to death for loving others and loving GOD, his name was JESUS.  He died to pay the cost for everyone who was willing to just LOVE and BELIEVE in HIM, and to do so ONCE and for ALL!  WOW, now that's TRUE LOVE.  For God  so loved the world that HE sent His Son, that, whosoever would believe in Him would not perish, but would have everlasting life.  It's hard to understand what that really means and the impact of it, I know.  BUT, I promise you this, if you will just give Jesus a chance, He will change your life in the most incredible way! I've got a peace, a calm assurance, and a joy that I never had before I met JESUS.  I have a sense of worth and of value, a sense of belonging to a greater cause.  Doing things the worlds way never brought me anything but grief.  So I ask you today, are you happy?  Are you at peace?  Do you feel all alone, or lost?  Don't spend another day that way when the answer is as close as your own shadow!  JESUS is right there, right now, and all it takes is this, JESUS HELP ME! And HE will!!

All are welcome, come as you are....

Remember the movie Patch Adams?  I love that movie because at the medical clinic Patch Adams started ALL were welcome.  There were no hoops to jump through, no insurance forms to fill out, no special treatment for one person over another.  People came as they were, with real problems, to find help.  This is what His House is all about.  This is God’s clinic.  Open to all.  Come as we are; with problems, with hurts, with joys, with needs, with wants.  Jesus, our great and wonderful physician is here to help us, heal the hurts, fill the emptiness, to love us.  Jesus does not ask us to come to Him fixed, He asks us just to come.  He will do the fixing.  Just like Patch Adam’s  clinic– no requirements- just come.

I love that!!!!!  I am so often a mess, life is hard and messy.  Praise God that I do not have to be perfect in order for Jesus to love me.  Praise God that so often it is when my life is at its worst that I feel God’s love the most.  At His House we desire to be like Jesus – loving one another even at our worst.  Helping one another through the worst so life can be better.  Learning together what God means to us,  discovering who Jesus is, and practicing loving one another as God loves us.

At His House there are no hoops to jump through, no “insurance forms to fill out”, no special treatment for one person over another,  just people trying our best to love God and one another.
